April 25, 2016

The EE department sponsored a field trip to SSL in Palo Alto, CA on April 22, 2016. We had lunch and visited with several Cal Poly graduates who now work at SSL. Mr. Bun Lau (Cal Poly EE ’98) and Ms. Jade Coe (Cal Poly EE ’15) provided an introduction to SSL and their current project responsibilities. Mr. David Bernstein (Sr VP) discussed SSL company history and past and current customers and satellite systems. We then toured the micro-fabrication, environmental test, and RF multiplexor areas. Finally, we visited the compact antenna test range (CATR) and the satellite high bay areas.
