Power & Energy Society's TESLA Tour

February 12, 2018

Power and Energy Society (PES) toured Tesla’s Factory in Fremont on January 19th, where we also met with a Cal Poly Alumni, Jonathan Romero. The tour began with a quick overview of what the Tesla does and their mission. The mission was to bring a mass market electric car, but Tesla need to begin with a high end model in order to have economic of scale. Next, we all got onto tour carts so that we could drive around the factory and see how the Models S and X are built from the start until the end. Overall, the Tesla Tour was amazing because we saw how all the cars were made and learned several interesting facts, such as the Gigafactory can hold up to 50 billion hamsters!
