Graduating Engineers - Order of the Engineer

=========

Dear Graduating Engineering Student,

If you are graduating in the 2011 calendar year with a degree in engineering you are invited to participate in the Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony.

The Order is not a membership organization; there are never any meetings to attend or annual dues to pay. Instead the Order fosters a unity of purpose and the honoring of one's pledge to uphold the standards and dignity of the engineering profession and to serve humanity by making the best use of Earth's precious wealth.

The Order has gained increased popularity among engineers on the east coast of the U.S. and Canada, and is now increasing its presence at west coast universities. Engineers who have taken the obligation of the Order are recognized by the wearing of a stainless steel ring on their smallest finger on their writing hand.

Cal Poly's Ring Ceremony will take place Friday, June 10th, 2011 at 7:30PM. This is the Friday of finals week. To order your ring you can fill out the form linked from esc.calpoly.edu/order. A ring sizer will be moved around through each department (May 16 – EE Dept. Office, 20A-200) along with a collection envelope for collecting money for the ring. ($15)

YOU MUST BOTH REGISTER ONLINE, AND PAY BEFORE THE DEADLINE MAY 23 @ 5PM.

Congratulations on nearing the completion of your engineering degree at Cal Poly!
