EE/EL Class of '66 Celebrate 50 year reuinon

May 12, 2016

The EE/EL Class of 1966 gathered on May 5 and 6, 2016 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of their graduation from Cal Poly.  14 members from the Class of ’66 traveled to San Luis Obispo to meet old friends, reminisce about their days at Cal Poly.  The shared their successes and career paths with current Electrical Engineering students, faculty and staff.

The reunion began on Thursday evening, May 5th with a Cinco de Mayo themed dinner in the Electrical Engineering office building.  This dinner included the current Electrical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) who was in town for their bi-annual meeting.  Friday morning they joined the IAB, faculty and staff for a continental breakfast.  After breakfast the Class of ’66 met in Bonderson Plaza for a tour of the College of Engineering buildings which ended with a tour of the Electrical Engineering labs.  The group gathered again with the IAB, faculty and staff for lunch where they had another opportunity to share their stories with everyone.  The reunion culminated with most of the members attending the Electrical Engineering Spring Banquet.

Some of the comments received after the reunion included: “What a walk down memory lane, yesterday was lots of fun”; “WOW, had a great time!”.   These same type of sentiments were expressed by all who attended the Class of ’66 50 year reunion.
