Bio
C. Arthur (Art) MacCarley, Ph.D., PE. California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California (Cal Poly) Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, Purdue University,1987 MS Electrical Engineering 1978, BS Mechanical Engineering 1976, University of California, Los Angeles Prof. MacCarley currently serves as the Chair of the Cal Poly Electrical Engineering Department, and Director of the Transportation Electronics Laboratory. He previously held positions with American Bosch, Hughes Aircraft, and served as the Director of the Alternative Fuels Laboratory at the University of Denver Research Institute. His research specializations include sensing and detection on highways, driver behavior analysis, automotive engine control, and machine vision for traffic applications. Research clients include the California Department of Transportation, California Office of Traffic Safety, and the University of California (Berkeley and Irvine). He has published over 125 technical journal and conference papers, and serves on the editorial review boards of four journals.
